Try the geocaching trail in the woods. GPS devices available to borrow, if required.
Explore the stunning gardens, set around the romantic house and ruins. Children can enjoy:
* Hunting for hidden treasures in the house on the I-Spy trail. Find them
all to receive a sticker
* Playing in the garden - explore the bamboo jungle and topiary shapes,
traverse the wooden stepping stones, and roly-poly down the garden
* Looking out for seasonal plants and flowers on the nature trail (collect
an activity sheet from the Welcome Hub)
* Discovering the woods - home to the tallest tree in Sussex (a Giant
Redwood standing at over 50m tall) and some large wooden
sculptures (including a kingfisher, owls and a giant beetle).
* Seasonal themed family trails and activities are usually available
during school holidays. Please note that these normally incur a
small additional charge. Click here for more information.

Devastated by fire in 1947 Nymans house is now part (stunning) ruin. The surviving rooms (spread over two floors) are intimate, and appear as they did when Anne, Countess of Rosse, lived in them from 1979 to 1992. The downstairs rooms are accessible to wheelchairs, but there is no lift to access the upstairs gallery.
The paths are mainly gravel and there is an accessible route around the gardens (but not the woods) for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Scooters and bikes are not permitted.
Dogs are welcome in the garden during winter opening hours only - from 4 November 2019 until 2 February 2020. Dogs are welcome in the woods year-round, as well as in the outdoor seating area of the cafe.
The cafe at Nymans serves homemade food. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Half portions of some main meals are available for children, as well as pick 'n' mix lunch boxes. Nymans is a lovely place for a picnic on a sunny day and picnics are welcome in the garden. There are even blankets available to borrow!
