The ground floor of the house (except for the dining room) is accessible to wheelchair users; unfortunately there is no lift to the upper floor. There is an accessible route to the house and around the gardens (see map), however on rainy days some of the paths on the estate can get a little muddy.
Enjoying a wonderful garden setting, the Mulberry tea-room offers children's lunch boxes, as well as half portions of some of the main meals. Bottles and baby food can also be warmed up here.
Alternatively, visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. There are dedicated picnic tables in and around the natural play area, which is a really lovely spot to sit and watch the children play on a sunny day! Whilst the play area is a great place for children of all ages, younger children will need to be helped across many of the obstacles.
Dogs are welcome in the grounds at Batemans (but not the house). Pick up one of the estate maps and explore some of the 300 acres of rolling countryside.
