Genuinely one of the best family days out in Sussex! Bedgebury offers a huge range of activities to keep the whole family happy all day long.

  • Navigate the Zog activity trail. Find familiar characters from the story and complete interesting challenges along the way - will you win a golden star? There are lots of woodland obstacles and adventure play areas en route, which children (and adults alike) will love exploring.

  • Visit the National Pinetum. Follow the way-marked trail amongst extraordinary trees whilst busily hunting for Gruffalo sculptures.

  • Explore the unique playground

  • Numerous trails for walking, running and cycling (including MTB)

If this is your first visit to Bedgebury, then you should definitely plan to spend the whole day here. There is a lovely modern cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Alternatively, bring a picnic and make use of one of the many picnic tables around the site.

Zog activity packs (designed for children age 3-9) are available from the Visitor Centre (small charge). In our opinion it is not necessary to purchase one of these to enjoy the trail.

Dogs are welcome at Bedgebury. They need to be kept on leads in the Pinetum, car park, visitor centre and play areas. Cycling is not allowed in the Pinetum, car park or visitor centre area.

Please note: Whilst admission to Bedgebury is free, parking charges are significant! Parking funds help Forestry England to look after the forest and all parking fees are re-invested back into the huge site.
