Forest Row to Hartfield (and back again!)

This is a great place for young children to learn to cycle in a traffic-free environment and also provides easy access for wheelchair users.

To find the start of the trail, turn left out of the car park and walk towards the end of the road passing Mid Sussex timber (on your right). At the end of the road turn right and walk down past the fire station, the start of the trail is 50m past the fire station.

The car park is free - spaces are marked: 3, 6 or 9 hours, depending on which row you pick. A playground can be found on Hartfield Road, just a 5 minute walk from the car park (RH18 5EA).

Whilst you could also undertake the trail on foot (with or without a canine friend), the flat route is definitely more interesting on wheels.

Extension: Feeling energetic? Continue on the Forest Way to Groombridge (additional 4 miles). Remember to save some energy for the return journey!

Feeling peckish? There are a wide range of dining options in Forest Row - from cafes to pubs and restaurants and a CoOp shop can be found adjacent to the car park. A village stores can also be found in Hartfield High Street.

Public conveniences: A Community Toilet is available at Lenny's Sandwich Bar which can be found in the parade of shops opposite car park. It is open Mon-Fri 7am-3.30pm/Sat 8am-3.15pm/Sun 9.30am-1.30pm.
