There are plenty of cafes in Forest Row, where you can refuel half way through your journey.

The Forest Way is the perfect place for a bike ride with the family. It runs along a disused railway line from East Grinstead to Groombridge (approx. 10 miles).

  • Cyclists and wheelchair users (wide, flat, surfaced path)

  • Beautiful countryside

  • Birdwatching. A variety of species can be spotted along the route

  • Abundant wildflowers and butterflies in spring and summer

Option 1: Hartfield to Forest Row (and back again!)

This is a great place for young children to learn to cycle in a traffic-free environment and also provides easy access for wheelchair users.

Whilst you could also undertake the trail on foot (with or without a canine friend), the flat route is definitely more interesting on wheels.
