Children's discovery trails are available at Reception and cost 50p. Our daughter (6) chose the 'Weird & Wonderful' trail (one of several available) and loved it! She was completely focussed on reading the questions, spotting the objects and writing the answers, and was delighted with the badge she received as a prize for completing the trail.

The museum has an art zone area, featuring free fun artistic activities for children. In school holidays this area is used to host workshops (additional charge).

There is a small gift shop area in Reception, with a few pocket money toys that children are magnetically drawn to!

The ground level (housing approx. 60% of the exhibits) is fully accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs, but the upper floors are not. A disabled toilet is situated within the ground floor. Dogs (except for Assistance Dogs) are not allowed.

The museum is very centrally located. The John Lewis/Waitrose store is a 14 minute walk away.
