Lancing Ring

Visit mid-late June to see the most amazing poppy fields

UPDATE MID-JUNE 2020: Unfortunately very few poppies this year - there is some re-seeding from last year, but nothing like the glorious display of 2019.
This 46 acre local nature reserve is a great option for a walk with children, as there is a playground half way round!
* Visit in June to see fields of gorgeous poppies - a photographer's dream!
* Playground en route
* Spot aquatic life in the dew pond
* Good views over Lancing to the sea
* Relatively mud-free walking year round
* Decent sized car park

Named after a ring of beech trees that were planted in the late 18th century, this local nature reserve comprises chalk grassland with patches of shrubs, woodland, wildflower meadows and a dew pond. The ground is well-drained and therefore remains relatively mud-free year round.
There is a network of paths through the reserve. Use our map as a guide, or take a picture of the map in the car park, as there are no way-marks en route.
Dogs are welcome here and can be exercised of-lead. Please pick up after your pet - there is a bin in the car park.
