The rock garden is located across the road from the park. Set among a beautiful backdrop of ornamental trees and shrubs, the garden offers many different areas to explore. Follow the winding stone pathways to discover water features, bridges and stepping stones as well as thousands of beautiful plants. Our daughter absolutely loved her visit here and scampered up the steps like a mountain goat! The garden is not suitable for pushchairs, and dogs and bikes are prohibited.
The cycle track is available for public use only on midweek daytimes (April - mid-September). There is no charge.
There are two cafes in the park - the Rotunda and Chalet. In our opinion, the Rotunda is the better of the two.
Due to limited parking and the park's central location, consider catching the bus. The 5 and 5A buses run between Hangleton and Patcham and go straight past the park every few minutes during the day.
Due to its size and location Preston park is also used as a venue for concerts, circuses, fairs, family days and other events.
