The three way marked walks are along surfaced trails which are suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs. During extended periods of wet weather the trails can become muddy and waterlogged in places. We therefore advise calling in to the Visitor Centre upon arrival to determine the best route to follow that day. Accessible toilets can be found adjacent to the Visitor Centre and close to the Juniper car park.
There are two play areas to discover at QECP. The Adventure Play Trail (located near the Juniper car park) is huge, comprising a mix of wooden obstacles, dens and forts. Our daughter (6) loved playing here and could do most obstacles without assistance. A snack kiosk (cash only) is located in this area; selling a small selection of snacks and drinks. Alternatively, the animal themed Tots Play Area, located close to the Visitor Centre, is aimed at younger children (under 8's).
The assault course (for those over 1.4 m tall) is also located close to the Juniper car park. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those who are more experienced.
There are two cycling trails at QECP which are clearly way marked. The Intermediate mountain bike trail (6 km, blue route) and the Advanced mountain bike trail (7 km, red route). Whilst bikes cannot be hired at QECP, the Visitor Centre stocks a range of cycling essentials - including inner tubes and puncture repair kits.
The Visitor Centre houses a modern cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonably priced hot and cold meals and snacks are served daily (10am - 4.30pm). Alternatively, bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the picnic tables dotted around the park.
Dogs are welcome to explore QECP and may be exercised off-lead. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the Visitor Centre and cafe.
