Dogs are welcome to walk on the promenade all year round. They must however be kept on leads from 1st May-30th September between the Martello Tower and Edinburgh Road (Western end of The Salts Recreation Ground) and they are not allowed on the beach in this area at this time.

What to See:

Splash Point and The Shoal (Esplanade car park BN25 1JT - free parking)

A wide jetty here offers spectacular views of the white cliffs at Seaford Head. The cliffs are home to one of the South East's last remaining colonies of kittiwakes, a notable RSPB viewing point with over a thousand nests. Visitors will also enjoy the view across Seaford Bay to Newhaven Harbour. The jetty at Splash Point is also home to a sculptural seating attraction - The Shoal.

The Salts Recreation Ground (mid-way along seafront - free parking opposite)

Seaford's largest park. There is a good, modern playground & skate park here, which will keep children of all ages happily entertained.

Tide Mills (situated between Seaford and Newhaven - BN25 2TW. Free parking)

Once a thriving working village, where tidal-powered mills ground and produced flour to export across southern England. Some remains of the village can still be seen and there are lots of information boards providing insight into life in the 19th century village as you walk around.

It is possible to walk to Tide Mills from Seaford Seafront (1.7 km each way). To do this, park at the Buckle car park (BN25 2QR, free parking) and walk on the promenade, passing the Sailing Club. This walk is best undertaken on foot, due to an extended stretch of shingle on the path.
