Heading in an anti-clockwise direction around the lake (past the cafe and kiosk) the first part of the walk is on a compacted stone path, which is quite bumpy. From the top of the lake, the path becomes compacted mud, which whilst smoother, can become quiet muddy. During periods of wet weather we suggest heading in an anti-clockwise direction around the lake and retracing your steps (if necessary) when you get to the top of the lake. The public footpaths are well sign-posted, if you're looking for a longer walk.

Dogs are welcome here, but must be kept under close control. Toilets are located by Swanbourne Lodge tea rooms and are charged at 20p per person.

There is a small playground (suitable for young children) half-way down Mill Road (0.5 km away), which you may wish to visit on the way back to the car.

Although free on-street parking is available, it does get filled up. Alternative parking can be found in a large pay and display car park 0.9 km away, in Mill Road (BN18 9AA). This car park is ideally located for the centre of town.
