The trail is generally flat, wide and surfaced. Whilst you can undertake the trail on foot, the flat route is definitely more interesting on wheels. Whilst the trail is pushchair-friendly, the surface is not completely smooth and is not suitable for scooters. The Worth Way is popular with dog walkers. Dogs can be exercised off-lead, provided they do not cause a nuisance to other people. Please pick up after your dog.
Both of the routes, outlined below, begin in the free car park opposite the old station (and Colas site) in Rowfant.
There is a great 'greasy spoon' style cafe at Rowfant Business Park with indoor and outside seating and a huge menu! It's 0.7 miles from the car park (as you head in the direction of East Grinstead) and is sign posted from the trail. It's open 7:30am-2pm weekdays and 7:30-12 noon on Saturdays.
Option 1: Rowfant to Three Bridges
Access the Worth Way from the end of the car park and turn left, following the signs to Three Bridges. You can travel right to the end of the Worth Way or just as far as you and your family are comfortable with, before turning round and heading back the way you came.
It is necessary to travel through two residential roads as part of this route. Be assured that these are very quiet, and should not prove too much of a challenge to negotiate with your family. See map for the route through residential roads.
The path ends in a fairly busy, industrial area of Crawley. Please note, there is nowhere to buy refreshments nearby.
Option 2: Rowfant to East Grinstead
Access the Worth Way from the end of the car park and turn right, following the signs to East Grinstead. After a couple of hundred metres you will need to cross over the road, following the path up a small hill, which levels out fairly quickly. You can travel right to the end of the path or just as far as you and your family are comfortable with, before turning round and heading back the way you came.
It is necessary to travel through a few residential roads (in the village of Crawley Down) as part of this route. These are generally quite quiet, and should not prove too much of a challenge to negotiate with your family. See map for the route through residential roads. Refreshments can be purchased in Crawley Down or from the supermarket at the end of the trail (in East Grinstead).
