All day, every day

The walk begins in the quaint village of Glynde. From here, enjoy the steady climb to the top of Mount Caburn (146m) for unrivalled views of the South Downs and beyond.

Follow the undulating trail from Mount Caburn across to Lewes golf course, for fabulous views of the county town. Lewes is the perfect place for a spot of lunch, with a variety of family-friendly lunch options. As a guide, it took us approximately 2 hours to reach Lewes, with our 5-year old daughter.

The return trail goes across Lewes golf course and over Saxon Cross (see map). When we visited, there was one stile on the return leg which didn't have dog access. We had to lift our Golden Retriever over (rather inelegantly)!

A small playground and toilet facilities can be found beside the car park in Glynde. In Lewes, public toilets can be found on Market Lane (BN7 2NT).
