Railway Land Reserve

Situated alongside the meandering River Ouse, in the heart of Lewes, this 27-acre wildlife haven is a great place to go for a stroll with the family. The reserve was once a busy railway marshalling yard that has now been reclaimed by nature. It is a tranquil space just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of town.

* Peaceful river-side walk

* Flat, surfaced paths

* Race to the top of the mount for a birds-eye view of the 'Heart of Reeds'

* Spot frogs, newts and fish in the ponds

* Beautiful wildflowers, which buzz with life in the Spring and Summer

   months

* Look for the rusty-roofed house which featured on tv show 'Grand

   Designs'.
