Perfect Adventures With Pre-Schoolers in Sussex!

Now the big ones are back at school, enjoy some quality one-on-one time with your little ones visiting somewhere new. The five adventures below have been handpicked with pre-schoolers in mind and like everything on I Spy Fun! - are 100% Free!

Beach on the Beach - Seafront, Bognor Regis, West Sussex

Beach on the Beach offers perfect sandcastle-building sand, even when the tide is in! The adjacent play park is bright, modern and filled with interesting wooden play structures. Pre-schoolers will be in their element!


What it's Great For:​

* Get creative with sand in the huge sandpit

* Run-free in the wonderful playground

* Explore the super-smooth promenade (ideal for little legs, scooters and pushchairs)

Tablehurst Farm, Forest Row, East Sussex

Indulge your little one's love of animals by spending a relaxing morning at this community-owned farm. Enjoy a walk around whilst taking in the spectacular Ashdown Forest scenery.


​What it's Great For:

* See the animals - pigs, cattle, turkeys, chickens when we visited

* Watch the farmers and gardeners at work

* Relax with a coffee whilst your little ones enjoy playing on the tractor and long-drop slide

King's Road Playground, Central Brighton

Fab beach-themed play park in a fantastic seafront location! Aimed at under-8s this large, bright, fully-enclosed area combines traditional playground with sand and water play.  


​What it's Great For:

* Brightly coloured playground with slides, climbing frames, and platforms 

* Large sand play area with toys

* Huge paddling pool (open daily from mid-May to mid-Sept)

Gull Island - Worthing, West Sussex

Aimed at under-8s, this popular beach-themed wooden playground has plenty of sand and a lovely big grassy slope for rolly-pollying down. Splash around in the fountains which operate throughout the summer months.

* Beach-side location - fun to explore after visiting the playground

* Get creative in the giant sand pit (located on the beach in front of Gull Island)

* Great cafe with indoor and outdoor seating

Highwoods - Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex

There are four, well-signposted routes to choose from (two are pushchair-friendly), making a walk here super-easy for families! Time to tell the Gruffalo or Bear-hunt story perhaps?
