Free Places to Visit in & Around Horsham
The historic market town of Horsham in the county of West Sussex is a lovely place to visit. The large town centre has an excellent selection of shops and restaurants and nearby Horsham park has a great play park which will keep children of all ages happily entertained.
There are plenty of other free places to visit in and around the town, including:
- Follow the boardwalk trail through Leechpool Woods
- Learn about the legend of a fearsome dragon at St Leonard's Forest
- Explore beautiful lakeside trails at Buchan Country Park
- Track down dinosaurs at Southwater Country Park's outstanding themed adventure playground
In addition, nearby Nymans, owned by the National Trust is a fantastic place to visit and is free for NT Members!
Horsham has a population of around 56,000. The town lies 8 miles south-west of Crawley and 25 miles north-west of Brighton. Trains to Crawley, Brighton and London take around 9 mins, 55 mins and 51 mins respectively.
