Free Places to Visit in & Around Seaford

The coastal town of Seaford in East Sussex is located at the foot of the South Downs and is surrounded by spectacular scenery! Take in the breathtaking views of the Seven Sisters from Seaford Head Nature Reserve; go for a leisurely stroll beside the meandering river Cuckmere at nearby Seven Sisters Country Park; or visit the jetty at Splash Point for magnificent views across sweeping Seaford Bay.

The seafront has a relaxed feel, without the bustle of larger resort beaches. The wide prom is the perfect place for a walk, scoot or cycle with little ones and the long stretch of shingle beach remains relatively quiet even in peak season. Why not combine a trip to the beach with a visit to The Salts Recreation Ground (also located on the seafront), which has an excellent playground for younger children. Parking along the entire seafront is free of charge!

Seaford has a population of around 23,000. The resort town of Eastbourne is just a 20 minute drive away. Seaford also has good rail links to the nearby historic town of Lewes (20 min) and vibrant city of Brighton (35 min). Trains to London via Lewes take around 1 hr 40 min.
